Rehabilitation of an Elevated Tank in a Tank Farm
As part of a current project, IPA Bauchemische Produkte GmbH undertook the comprehensive rehabilitation of an elevated tank with a total area of approximately 3,200 square meters.
The existing old coating showed significant signs of wear – it was brittle, cracked, and largely no longer intact. To restore the long-term protective function of the tank, a new coating was applied.
After complete surface preparation by sandblasting to SA 2 ½, a specialized coating system was applied: IPA Polyschicht®. A special property of the material used is that no additional primer is required, which allowed the work process to be designed very efficiently. The application was carried out in two layers by spraying, which reduces downtime during the rehabilitation work.
“The simple application and the high chemical resistance of the coating consistently impress us and our customers. Thanks to the fast processing, we were able to reduce the tank’s downtime to a minimum and implement a long-lasting solution,” reports Enrico Lengyel, Managing Director of IPA Bauchemische Produkte GmbH, who accompanied the project.
