IPA SYSTEM SOLUTIONS FOR SEALING
Effective protection against moisture
The waterproofing of buildings is extremely important so that they are protected against water or moisture. Various sealants are available for this.
Exterior sealing in new and old buildings
A number of points must be clarified in advance for a technically flawless external seal to be possible.
The wall and floor constructions must be checked for stability and changed loads. It must also be clarified whether drainage is required and what connection options are available to an outfall.
Subsequent external seals against pressing water can only be carried out if the wall seal can be connected to a watertight base plate.
The graphic shows a basement waterproofing and the products required for it.

IPANEX® is a chloride-free, liquid admixture that makes mortar and concrete water pressure-tight by eliminating the capillary effect. By reducing the W/C factor while improving workability, IPANEX significantly increases the quality of mortar and concrete. The reduction in the surface tension of the mixing water causes a significant increase in the plasticity and suppleness of the IPANEX mortar, concrete or screed.

IPA DURIPAL is a low-viscosity liquid based on soluble alkali silicate compounds with very good capillary penetration.
IPA Sealing Slurry is a cement-bound surface sealant for sealing against ground moisture and pressurized water with a depth effect. With the appropriate application thickness, the IPA sealing slurry can also be used as a pressurized water seal. The IPA sealing slurry is dense and particularly resistant to aggressive water.
INTERNAL SEALING FOR PRESSURE & NON-PRESSURE WATER
Since it is often not possible or too expensive to expose the outer masonry, subsequent internal sealing (also known as negative sealing) is a possible compromise. You can’t achieve dry walls with it, but dry rooms or wall surfaces. This applies in particular when trough-type seals are installed. Rigid, cement-bound products are generally used as sealing materials, as these are able to cling so firmly to the substrate that they cannot be pushed off by the water pressure.
Rising damp – horizontal barrier
Another major reason for the moisture penetration of the masonry is capillary rising or penetrating moisture. This cannot be dissipated by the renovation plaster alone, especially in the case of large wall thicknesses or extreme ingress of moisture. Here, the subsequent installation of a horizontal barrier using the borehole injection method offers a safe, proven and permanent solution.
In order to shut off rising damp, an injection with JEKTIPAL or JEKTIPAL ЕМ 12 (add natural stone and sandstone) follows.
If necessary, a Мöгtеlinjеktiоп with the suitable IРА Iпjеktiопsmöгtеl is to be planned for the filling of cavities or for the production of a homogeneous construction body.
JEKTIPAL is an aqueous combination of active ingredients of various alkali silicate and silicic acid solutions that have been specially adjusted to be hydrophobic, which cause capillary blockage and hydrophobic treatment in the cross-section of the masonry.
The use of cement-bonded sealing systems (sealing slurries or barrier plaster) is possible on all mineral substrates.
Special precautions should only be taken with building materials containing gypsum due to the formation of ettringite.
If basement rooms are to be used to a high standard, it should be considered whether condensation should be avoided on the sealing measure by applying thermal insulation or renovation plaster.
